Key Plays: With Ottawa trailing 1-0 in the bottom of the 3rd, Eugene Kingsale lofted a bases loaded fly ball to center, and Knights centerfielder Brian Anderson dropped the ball allowing two runs to score. Ottawa never looked back in a 5-1 win.
Recap: For the fourth time in the series, Charlotte took the early lead, scoring a run in the second inning of Lynx starter Brian McNichol. Ottawa responded in the second inning, as a Bernie Castro walk, a Tim Raines Jr. base hit and a Walter Young hit by pitch loaded the bases for Eugene Kingsale with two out. Kingsale lofted a fly ball to center that was dropped by Charlotte centerfielder Brian Anderson, leading to two Ottawa runs and a 2-1 Lynx lead. Ottawa added a run in the 4th inning, as Ed Rogers started things off with a double off the left field wall. One out later, Rogers scored the Lynx third unearned run of the game when he scampered towards third on a short wild pitch, and scored when Charlotte catcher Jamie Burke's throw sailed wide of third to make the score 3-1. The Lynx would add two insurance runs in the 7th inning. Alejandro Freire hit a one-out double to right and went to third on a single by Young. Kingsale then ripped an RBI double to right, scoring Freire and moving Young to third. The final Lynx run would score one batter later when a Josh Fields balk would score Young to close the scoring in a 5-1 Lynx victory. Frank Thomas went 0-for-3 for the Knights and ended the series by going 4-for-15 in four games against the Lynx.
