Jason Baker Joins Dragons Coaching Staff

Dayton, Ohio-The Dayton Dragons announced today the addition of Jason Baker to the coaching staff on an interim basis. Baker has served as a scout in the Reds organization since 2004. He played professionally in the Los Angeles Dodgers and Montreal Expos organizations from 1995-'98.

Baker will work with Dragons hitters in the absence of Ken Griffey, who will undergo hip replacement surgery on August 2nd. Griffey is expected to attend Dragons home games in August and September but will be unable to travel with the team during those months.

As a scout for the Reds over the last seven years, Baker signed current Dragons pitchers Ricky Bowen and Jason Braun and several other players who have played for the Dragons including pitchers Philippe Valiquette, Jeremy Horst, and James Avery.
