Reno Aces News Release

RENO - Reno Aces (@Aces) infielder Jamie Romak has been named Pacific Coast League Player of the week, the league announced today.

Romak was given the award for his play from May 25-31 when he hit .538 (14-for-26) with 14 RBI, 7 runs scored, 4 home runs, 3 doubles, 2 walks and 1 stolen base. During the span, he led the PCL in average, hits, extra-base hits, home runs and RBI.

The award for Romak came one week after Nick Evans took home the same league honor. It's the first time the Aces have garnered back-to-back Players of the Week since Collin Cowgill and Wily Mo Pena did from April 25-May 9, 2011.

The big week for Romak included a multi-homer game, a current eight-game hitting streak and two huge hits for the Aces in yesterday's 4-3 win over New Orleans.

His two-homer game was in a 13-1 win over Iowa on May 27. His second homer of the day was a sixth inning grand slam.

With the Aces trailing 2-1 in the fifth inning yesterday, Romak drilled a two-out RBI double to even the game at 2-2. He did it again in the seventh when he lined a two-out, two-run double to give Reno a 4-2 lead.

Following the finale against New Orleans tonight, the Round Rock Express come to town June 2-June 5. Ticket packages are on-sale now at www.RenoAces.com or by calling (775) 334-4700.
