January 10, 2006 - Ontario Hockey League (OHL)
Barrie Colts News Release
Barrie, ON- The Barrie Colts today announced that overage centre Jakub Petruzalek has joined the team and will suit up Thursday when the club travels to Peterborough to play the Petes (7:00 p.m.).
Petruzalek was a member this season of HC Litinov Chemopetrol of the Czech Elite League. He recorded 63 points (20g-43a) in 59 games last season as a rookie member of the Ottawa 67's. The Colts had originally acquired the rights to Petruzalek on June 29, 2005 in exchange for their first round pick (43rd overall) in the 2005 CHL Import Draft.
"Jakub will add a lot of speed and excitement to our lineup," stated Director of Hockey Operations Gregg Carrigan. "He will provide us with a more balanced approach to the offense - and the leadership and experience he will bring will go a long way in the dressing room."
With the addition of Petruzalek, the Colts now have three overage players in their lineup. He will join the team for practice at the Molson Centre on Wednesday, 3:00 - 4:45 p.m.
