Oshawa Generals News Release

Oshawa, Ontario - January 10th, 2006 (Generals Hockey Inc.) - The Oshawa Generals announced today that they have acquired left-shot, defenceman Karel Kubat from the London Knights and London's 6th round draft pick in the 2007 draft in exchange for David Halasz.

Kubat, 17, was London's second pick, 62nd overall in the 2005 CHL Import Draft. Karel is 6'1", 175lbs. and a native of Litvinov, Czech Republic.

"This deal gives David an opportunity to participate in the play-offs. He unfortunately has had an injury-plagued season and the chances of him being back for his over-age year were slim," said Brad Selwood, General Manager of the Oshawa Generals. "We've picked up a valuable draft pick for the 2007 draft along with another young, promising defenceman in Karel.

Updated information will be posted on the Oshawa Generals website at www.oshawagenerals.com.
