May 15, 2007 - International League (IL1)
Buffalo Bisons News Release
The Buffalo Bisons announced that pitcher Jake Dittler has been promoted to the Bisons from Double-A Akron. The Cleveland Indians have also traded infielder Jake Gautreau to the New York Mets for a player to be named later.
Dittler, 24, was 1-1 with a 4.19ERA in 11 games with the Aeros in 2007. Last season, he led all Bisons pitchers with 24 starts and was 5-12 with a 4.70ERA and 54 strikeouts. Dittler also finished second on the 2006 Bisons in innings pitched (130.1IP) and tied for third with eight quality starts. He worked five or more innings in 18 of his 24 starts and allowed just five home runs in 130.1 innings of work.
Gautreau, 27, had been on the Bisons disabled list for the first six weeks of the 2007 season. His best year with the Herd came in 2005 when he hit .253 with 30 doubles, 18 home runs and 57RBI while being named an International League All-Star. In 2006, Gautreau was limited to 76 games due to health concerns that landed him on the disabled list three separate times. He hit .198 with seven home runs and 29RBI that year.
