Lynx Rally Comes Up Short Against Bisons

May 15, 2007 - International League (IL1)
Ottawa Lynx News Release

A late Lynx rally fell just short as they dropped their fourth straight game Tuesday night against Buffalo. The Bisons topped the Lynx 7-6.

The loss drops the Lynx to 17-18 while the Bisons improve to 23-12.

Players Of The Game: The trio of Lou Collier, Brennan King and Danny Sandoval each had two hits and a run batted in for the Lynx.

Game Recap: Buffalo scored one in the first, three more in the fourth and their last three runs in the top of the sixth to lead 7-0. But once the seventh-inning stretch was over, the Lynx started to flex their muscle. Ottawa scored once in the bottom of the seventh when Brennan King led off with a triple and scored on Jim Rushford's RBI groundout. They put two more runs on the board in the bottom of the eighth when Gary Burnham was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded, cashing in Chris Roberson, and Brennan King brought home Joe Thurston on a groundout. With their backs against the wall in the bottom of the ninth, the Lynx scored three more to cut the deficit, but RBIs by Danny Sandoval, Chris Roberson and Lou Collier were not enough, as the Lynx lost their fourth straight 7-6.

Next Game: The Lynx and Bisons renew hostilities with the second game of their four-game series. Game time is 6:05 pm at Lynx Stadium.

Probable Pitchers: Wednesday vs. Buffalo, 6:05 pm, Ottawa RHP Zack Segovia (1-4, 5.08) takes on Buffalo LHP Jason Stanford (3-1, 3.79).
