June 16, 2019 - Pioneer League (PL) - Orem Owlz News Release

(Orem, UT) - Jeremiah Jackson hit a pair of home runs on Sunday afternoon but the Owlz (1-2) couldn't complete a comeback, losing to the Rocky Mountain Vibes (2-1) 13-10 at the Home of the Owlz.

The Owlz entered the bottom of the ninth inning trailing 13-6. With the bases loaded and one out, David Clawson ripped a double into right-center, scoring three runs. The Owlz plated another run when Anthony Mulrine was hit by a pitch, scoring the fourth run of the inning. With the Owlz trailing 13-10, Morgan McCullough struck out to end the game, leaving the tying run on base.

Jeremiah Jackson started the season 0-for-6 before homering in his first at-bat on Sunday. Jackson wasn't done, smacking a solo shot in the fifth for the first multi-homer game of his career.

Rocky Mountain opened the scoring in the first inning by scoring two runs. Jackson's first home run cut the deficit to 2-1 in the bottom of the first, which was the closest the Owlz came.

The Vibes put together a pair of four-run innings. Rocky Mountain shortstop Antonio Pinero had three doubles in the Vibes' win. Vibes' reliever Brady Schanuel (1-0) earned the win while Dylan King (0-1) was charged with the loss. Jackson Sigman (1) came on to retire the final batter, earning the save.

The Owlz and Vibes will wrap up the series on Monday evening at 7:00 when Emilker Guzman toes the rubber for the Owlz against Nash Walters for the Vibes.
