Odessa Jackalopes News Release
The Matchup: It's a Southwest Division matchup between the Jacks and Gorillas. Odessa leads the season series 2-1. The two teams previously met on December 9th when the Jacks scored four second period goals en route to a 5-2 win. Dominic Leveille leads all skaters in the series with six points (two goals, four assists). Odessa will face Amarillo in three of their next four games.
The Odessa Jackalopes: The Jackalopes have won 13 of their last 14 games after a 5-3 win in Corpus Christi on Tuesday night. Russ Moyer broke a 3-3 tie early in the third period with a power play goal, and Sebastien Thinel scored an empty netter to give him four points in the game. Jeremy Symington made 33 saves in his only appearance with the Jackalopes during his short tenure with the team.
Odessa - The Last 10: The Odessa Jackalopes are 9-1-0 in their last 10 games.
The Amarillo Gorillas: The Gorillas fell, 5-2, to the Colorado Eagles on Tuesday night. Aaron Schneekloth recorded a hat trick for the eagles in the win. Former Jackalopes goalie, Mike Gorman was pulled after giving up five goals in two periods of play. Amarillo is currently tied with Wichita for the worst record in the CHL at 16 points overall.
Amarillo Gorillas - The Last 10: The Amarillo Gorillas are 4-6-0 in their last 10 games.
Looking Four More: Jackalopes' forward, Sebastien Thinel, has recorded four points in each of the last two games (five goals, three assists). On the season Thinel currently has 19 goals and 23 assists for 42 points.
Jacks Streaking: The Jacks are in the middle a nine-game home winning streak, and with a win over Amarillo will tie the franchise record of 10 straight home wins. In their last eight home games, the Jacks have outscored their opponent, 33-17.
Holiday Cheer: The Odessa Jackalopes are 9-1-0 in the month of December.
Home Sweet Home: After beginning the season 0-4-2 at home the Jacks are now tied for fourth in the CHL with nine home wins this year.
Milestone Alert: Dominic Leveille recorded four points in the Jacks' win on Saturday, passing the 200-point mark for his Jacks' career. Leveille now currently has 202 points in his Jackalopes career.
