Elmira Jackals News Release
After playing just one game in an eight-day span, the Elmira Jackals will participate in five contests in six days beginning this Tuesday, Nov. 2 at 7:30 p.m. in Cincinnati as the Jackals battle the Cyclones. The Jackals get an early start on Wednesday, Nov. 3 with a 10:30 a.m. game in Toledo, then return to Elmira for games on Friday, Nov. 5 and Saturday, Nov. 6 at 7:35 p.m. against the Reading Royals, and finish the week on Sunday, Nov. 7 at 5:05 p.m. on the road against the Wheeling Nailers.
Last season, the Jackals had one stretch with five games in six days in late March, which also began in Cincinnati on a Tuesday. Elmira then played in Kalamazoo on Wednesday, hosted Trenton on Friday, and then went to the Garden State to take on the Devils on Saturday and Sunday. The Jackals played six games in eight days from Dec. 26 - Jan. 2 as well in 2009-2010.
The Jackals' lone game last week was on Saturday night at First Arena, with the Gwinnett Gladiators defeating Elmira 4-3 for the Jackals' first loss in regulation this season.
SETTING THE PACE
Elmira sits atop the Atlantic Division entering the fourth week of ECHL play in 2010-2011. The Jackals have eight of a possible 12 points to start the season, leading Reading's six points and Trenton's five.
The Jackals are 2-0 in division play this season, with two road victories in Reading two weekends ago. Elmira plays a total of 31 divisional games in the 2010-2011 season.
