ESTERO, FL - The Florida Everblades picked up a three-game sweep over the Kalamazoo Wings this past week at Germain Arena. Overall, the Everblades enter this week's action with a record of 5-3-0 (10 pts., 2nd South Division.)

Friday, Saturday, & Sunday November 5, 6 & 7 at South Carolina Stingrays Fri & Sat. 7:05 p.m.; Sun. 4:00 p.m.

GAME NOTES: The Everblades head out for the front end of their longest road trip of the season this week when they visit Charleston, SC to take on the South Carolina Stingrays. The trio of games are the first of 13 total between the two South Division rivals and are the first of eight at the North Charleston Coliseum. Interestingly enough, the eight games in South Carolina will all be played before the Stingrays visit Florida. The Blades don't host South Carolina until March. All-time the Everblades have played against South Carolina more than any other opponent, skating head-to-head in the regular season 102 times. The Everblades are 55-34-13 all-time vs. South Carolina and are 28-14-6 all-time on the road vs. the Stingrays. Entering this week's action South Carolina is 1-3-0 (2 pts., 4th South Division).

Wednesday, October 27 vs. Kalamazoo Wings 3-2 Win

The Everblades engineered a 3-2 come-from-behind win in their first game of the year vs. Kalamazoo last Wednesday at Germain Arena. After allowing a second period goal to the K-Wings to open the scoring, the Everblades picked up a pair of goals from Alex Imbeault in the first four minutes of the third period to take the lead. Kalamazoo tied the score at two in the eighth minute, but rookie Alex Hutchings collected the eventual game-winner at 13:20. In goal Bobby Goepfert collected the win stopping 29 of 31 shots. Florida Special Teams: PP: 1-of-5; PK: 5-of-5.

Friday, October 29 vs. Kalamazoo Wings 6-2 Win

The Everblades picked up their largest win of the season and won back-to-back games for the first time this season with a four-goal victory over the K-Wings on Friday night. The Everblades collected a pair of first period power play goals from Francis Lemieux and Mathieu Roy to take a 2-1 lead into the first intermission, then blew the game open with three second period goals from Matt Beca, Alex Hutchings (short-handed) and Mitch Fadden. The Blades closed out the scoring with their second short-handed goal of the night with 22 seconds left in regulation from Matt Pistilli. In goal Bobby Goepfert won his second straight game by turning away 25 shots. Florida Special Teams: PP: 2-of-6; PK: 6-of-6.

Saturday, October 30 vs. Kalamazoo Wings 4-3 Shootout Win

The Everblades finished off their three-game sweep of the K-Wing on Saturday night with a 4-3 shootout win. The Everblades jumped out quickly scoring three first period goals including two power play markers from Elgin Reid. The other tally came off the stick of Matt Beca. Kalamazoo chipped away at the lead scoring a goal in each period to force the game into overtime. After neither team scored in the five-minute overtime period, the game moved to a shootout where The Everblades picked up goals by Alex Imbeault and Francis Lemieux while Kalamazoo failed to score in their four attempts. In goal Jaroslav Janus collected the win turning away 40 shots in regulation and overtime, then not allowing a goal in the shootout. Florida Special Teams: PP: 2-of-6; PK: 3-of-3.

Player of the Week Nominee: The Everblades' Player of the Week Nominee is forward Alex Imbeault who finished the week with points in all three games, including a hat-trick in Florida's 7-6 OT win on Friday. Overall Imbeault finished with six goals, three of which were on the power play.

Special Teams Breakdown: Entering this week, here's a look at the Everblades power play and penalty killing: On the power play the Everblades rank second in the ECHL at 23.3 % (10-of-43)...at home the Blades are ranked fifth in the league at 25.9 % (7-of-27)...on the road the Everblades rank seventh at 18.8 % (3-of-16). On the penalty kill the Everblades find themselves 10th in the ECHL at 82.9 % (29-of-35)...at home the Everblades enter the week ranked seventh at 87.5 % (21-of-24)...on the road the Blades are currently 16th at 72.7 % (8-of-11).

Isn't That Special?: The Everblades' special teams units have been rolling of late. On the power play the Everblades have notched at least one goal in their last five games (8-of-29, 27.6%) and have picked up four in their last two games. While short-handed the Blades have not allowed a power play marker in three straight, killing off all 14 chances. In addition, the Everblades have also scored three short-handed goals this season.

Milestone Night: Everblades forward Mathieu Roy played in his 200th career game on Saturday night vs. Kalamazoo. The 23-year-old began his career 2007-08 with the Pensacola Ice Pilots and has collected 125 points (53g, 72a) in his career. Roy is in his third season with the Everblades and has played 126 of those games in the green and blue.

Approaching Milestones: Here's a look at Everblades that are approaching milestones in the careers: D Trevor Hendrikx is five points away from 100 in his professional career...F Alex Imbeault needs one assist to reach 100 in his career and is 10 games away from playing in his 200th career game...D Mike Egener finds himself 25 games away from playing in his 300th career game...F Ross Carlson needs to play in 11 more games to reach 200 in his career.

Who's Hot: Everblades forward Alex Imbeault has picked up points in six of his last seven games (8g, 2a) and has scored at least one goal in five of the last seven...F Mitch Fadden has picked up an assist in his last five games, eight total...F Francis Lemieux has picked up point in six of the last seven games (2g, 6a).

Bad News, Good News: Seven games into the season the Everblades have yet to score the first goal of the game, however the Everblades have been able to engineer four come-from-behind wins this season, including twice coming from behind when trailing the game entering the third period.

Looking Ahead: Following tonight's game the Everblades will embark on their longest road trip of the season. The team will be away for the next two weekends, playing three game at South Carolina next weekend and following that up with three games at Greenville the weekend of November 11. The Everblades' next home game is November 17 when they host Toledo for the first of three games.
