New Jersey Jackals News Release

Little Falls, NJ - The New Jersey Jackals' offensive output prove to be more than enough to back up Isaac Pavlik, who silenced the bats of the Rox, in a 10-1 victory over the Rox in Brockton. The Jackals stayed perfect on the road against Brockton in 2005.

The Jackals touched up Brockton starter Brad Guy for one in the second, and two in the third, providing Isaac Pavlik with a nice three run cushion. Matt Hagen, Francisco Lebron, and Kevin Dattola all notched RBI singles.

With Isaac Pavlik cruising along allowing only one hit through five innings, the Jackals made the lead insurmountable for the Rox, by putting up six runs in the top of the sixth. Dattola added his second RBI single of the game, but the big blows were by Mike Rucci and Elvis Corporan. Rucci doubled home two runs, and Corporan belted a three-run homerun later in the inning, to make it 9-0 in favor of the Jackals.

New Jersey did more scoring in the top of the seventh, when Zack Smithlin singled in the team's 10th run, while the Rox were still being one-hit by Pavlik.

Finally, the Rox broke the shutout by the left-hander in the bottom of the eighth. Three hits, including an RBI single by Andrew Salvo, made the score 10-1, and that's the way it ended

Isaac Pavlik was phenomenal in eight innings pitched. He picked up the win, allowing only one earned run, on four hits, while walking two, and fanning nine.

The loss went to Brockton's Brad Guy. He lasted five innings, but was lit up for six runs, all earned, on nine hits, while walking one, and striking out only one.
