Jackals Sign Forward Darcy Murphy

ELMIRA, NY - The Elmira Jackals, ECHL affiliate of the NHL's Buffalo Sabres and the AHL's Rochester Americans, announced today that the club has signed forward Darcy Murphy to a Standard Player Contract.

Murphy, 23, joins the Jackals following the conclusion of his collegiate career at Colgate University where he was a teammate of current Jackals defenseman Spiro Goulakos. As a senior, Murphy ranked fourth on the Raiders with 21 points (eight goals, 13 assists) and was tied for the team lead with three game-winning goals. He finished third on the team in scoring as a junior with 26 points and finished tied for second in both goals (11) and assists (15). Murphy recorded his best statistical season as a sophomore leading the team with 19 goals and seven power-play tallies while tying for third with 28 points. In total, Murphy registered 90 points (48 goals, 42 assists) in 146 NCAA games.

Prior to turning pro, the Marysville, Ontario native skated for two seasons with the Wellington Dukes of the OJHL posting 127 points (66 goals, 61 assists) in 98 contests.
