Jackals Score Two Power Play Goals, Down Sea Wolves 4-2

BILOXI, MS - The Elmira Jackals downed the Mississippi Sea Wolves by a score of 4-2 at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum in front of a crowd of 2,539 on Tuesday evening.

Elmira scored first, when Bobby Robins found a loose puck and put it past Morgan Cey with the Jackals on a power-play at 12:58 of the first period. Chris Busby gave the Jackals a 2-0 lead with a power-play goal when his blast from the blueline beat Cey at 17:44.

The Sea Wolves drew within one when Jason Tejchma scored his third of the year, driving home a goal-mouth pass from Ryan Menei at 15:18 of the second period. Elmira took just 30 seconds to extend their lead to two once again, when Chaz Johnson drove the net and Mike McLean's centering feed redirected off his skate and into the goal at 15:48.

Trevor Hendrikx scored with a slap-shot from the blue line to give Elmira a 4-1 lead at 12:14 of the third. The Sea Wolves cut the lead back to two when Ryan Menei beat Elmira goaltender Joel Martin with a wrist shot for a power-play goal at 15:10 of the third period.

The Sea Wolves were 1-for-7 on the power play, and Morgan Cey made 27 saves on 31 shots.
