Jackals Name Matt Tassone Team Captain

ELMIRA, N.Y. - October 15, 2014 - The Elmira Jackals, proud ECHL affiliate of the NHL's Buffalo Sabres and AHL's Rochester Americans, announced today that Matt Tassone has been named captain of the team for the 2014-15 season.
"Matt has been an exemplary leader from the moment he walked in the door," said Jackals head coach Jamie Russell. "On the ice and off the ice he has been a leader by example. He has been very organized and has been a consummate professional representing our organization. Matt embodies the identity and style of hockey that we want to play. He has a burning desire and passion to lead and be successful with this team."
Nick Tuzzolino and Andrew Conboy have been named the alternate captains.
"Nick brings a wealth of pro experience and has a true understanding of what it takes to be a pro," said Russell. "On the ice and off the ice he will join with Matt and Andrew to lead the way for our younger players."
"Andrew is a true warrior and competitor and will make First Arena a tough place to play," said Russell. "He comes to work every day prepared and understands what it takes to win at this level."
