Bretton Cameron Named Road Warriors Captain

Greenville, SC- The Greenville Road Warriors, proud ECHL affiliate of the New York Rangers and the AHL's Hartford Wolf Pack, today announced forward Bretton Cameron will serve as captain for the 2014-15 season. In addition, center Tyler Brown and defenseman Ryan Hegarty have been named alternate captains for the Road Warriors' fifth season in the Upstate.

Cameron, 25, becomes the third captain in team history since the franchise relocated to Greenville in 2010. Overall, the Didsbury, Alberta native is entering his fourth season with the Road Warriors, where he has amassed 67 points (25g, 42a) in 134 games. Last season, Cameron appeared in 61 contests for Greenville and produced 19 points (7g, 12a) with a career-high 119 penalty minutes. In four professional seasons, the 5'11, 181-pound forward has also suited up for AHL games with Hartford and Texas.

Brown, 24, enters his first season in Greenville after signing with the team on September 5th. A fourth-year pro, Brown spent each of his first three professional seasons with the AHL's Adirondack Flames and earned nine points (3g, 6a) in 56 games. The Wasaga Beach, Ontario native initially signed a three-year entry-level contact with the Philadelphia Flyers in March, 2011. Prior to turning pro, Brown played four seasons with the Plymouth Whalers in the Ontario Hockey League. He recorded 123 points (48g, 75a) in 220 games.

Hegarty, 24, returns to the Road Warriors for his second season in Greenville after he played 59 games last season and notched 22 points (4g, 18a). Overall, the Arlington, Massachusetts native has registered 31 points (7g, 24a) in 116 ECHL games including 57 games with the Fort Wayne Komets during the 2012-13 campaign. Prior to turning pro, Hegarty played four seasons at the University of Maine and also spent two seasons in the U.S. National Under-18 development program. The 6'0, 200-pound defenseman was drafted in the fourth round (#113 overall) by the Anaheim Ducks in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft.
