IN JUST A FEW HOURS...

The Elmira Jackals close out their weekend in Wheeling, W.V., taking on the Nailers at 4:05 p.m. at WesBanco Arena. Elmira clinched its second division title since joining the ECHL on Saturday night, earning a 7-1 victory over the Toledo Walleye and then using a loss by the Nailers to the Cincinnati Cyclones to wrap up the Atlantic crown. The Jackals also broke their franchise record for wins in an ECHL season last night, earning their 42nd victory of 2011-2012. With a win today, Elmira would set a club mark for points in an ECHL season and would tie the record of 89 with an overtime or a shootout loss. Wheeling enters the game on a six-game losing streak, going 0-4-1-1 during this current stretch.

A BIG VICTORY

The Jackals' six-goal win was its largest of the season, breaking the previous high of a four-goal victory, which had been accomplished on three occasions prior to Saturday. The victory was Elmira's first by more than five goals since Jan. 29, 2010, when the Jackals earned an 8-1 win over the Gwinnett Gladiators at First Arena.

REEDS RECORDS GORDIE HOWE HAT TRICK

Kyle Reeds posted a goal and an assist on Saturday before engaging in a fight with Toledo's Riley Emmerson for his first professional bout. The multi-point game was the first of Reeds' career, as he recorded his sixth goal and fourth assist of 2011-2012.
