Jackals' 4-Run Seventh Propels Them Past Boulders

Rockland County, NY - The New Jersey Jackals broke open a tie game with a four-run seventh inning on their way to a 7-4 Frontier League win over the New York Boulders on Sunday at Palisades Credit Union Park.
New Jersey plated four runs in the seventh on an RBI single by Alfredo Marte, a run-scoring double from Stanley Espinal and a two-run double by T.J. Ward - the outburst giving the Jackals a 7-3 lead.
The teams started out the afternoon by trading single runs in the second inning and two runs apiece in the third.
In the second, New Jersey scored on a single by Jason Agresti, which followed a triple by Espinal; while the Boulders came right back with a long home run to left field by Ray Hernandez.
Hernandez connected again for a solo shot in the eighth inning. He finished the afternoon with three hits and three RBIs. The home runs were his second and third of the year.
The third inning saw the Jackals get an RBI single by Marte and a bases loaded walk from Espinal; while New York knotted the at 3-3 on a run-scoring groundout by Zach Penprase and an RBI single by Hernandez.
Marte, Espinal and Ward each had two RBIs in the win for the Jackals.
Jack Weinberger, the second of five New Jersey pitchers, got the win, while Dylan Brammer picking up the save after tossing a scoreless ninth inning.
A.J. Candelario was tagged with the loss for the Boulders.
The Boulders continue this 10-game homestand with a three-game series, Tuesday through Thursday (June 15-17) against the Sussex County Miners, all games set to begin at 7 p.m.

Debuting in 1993, the Frontier League is the largest and longest-running of the modern independent leagues and features teams stretching from the Atlantic Ocean to the Mississippi River and from the Ohio River to the St. Lawrence Seaway. In September of 2020, the Frontier League reached an agreement to become a "Partner League" with Major League Baseball.
As a "Partner League," the Frontier League and its teams will meet on a regular basis with MLB representatives to discuss joint marketing and promotional opportunities, as well as collaborate on initiatives to provide organized baseball to communities throughout the United States and Canada.
