CONEY ISLAND, NY - JT Schwartz smashed his first professional home run and collected three hits, leading a 12-hit barrage in Brooklyn's 5-2 victory over the Jersey Shore Blue Claws Tuesday night at Maimonides Park in the home opener of the 2022 season.

KEY PLAYS
Brooklyn's offense exploded in the bottom of the fifth inning, scoring four runs to turn around a 3-2 deficit. After Wyatt Young ripped an RBI single and Rowdey Jordan scored on a double play ball, JT Schwartz rocketed a line-drive home run over the right-field fence into The Backyard to give the Cyclones a 5-2 lead.
Down 1-0, Jersey Shore tied the game in the top of the third on a two-out RBI bloop double hit by Luis Garcia that landed fairly just inside the third base line, bouncing once fair territory before immediately going into foul territory.
Brandon McIlwain launched a two-out double to left field, plating JT Schwartz in the bottom of the second inning against Jersey Shore starter Victor Vargas.
Brooklyn's bullpen tossed 5 1/3 scoreless innings, striking out nine. Hunter Parsons fanned five over 2 1/3 innings in the victory.

The Brooklyn Cyclones played their earliest game in Coney Island on Tuesday, April 12 in front of 2,041.
After going 2-20 with runners in scoring position over the weekend in Wilmington, the Cyclones went 5-for-13 on Tuesday night.
The Cyclones bullpen has allowed one earned run over its past 16 innings dating back to Sunday.
