Isotopes Welcome Six-Millionth Fan
June 3, 2013 - Pacific Coast League (PCL1)
Albuquerque Isotopes News Release
The Albuquerque Isotopes welcomed their six-millionth fan in franchise history when Rose Rodriguez, accompanied by her eight-year-old grandson Brandon Sandoval, both of Albuquerque, passed through the Isotopes Park gates prior to tonight's game with the Oklahoma City RedHawks.
Rodriguez and Sandoval were welcomed by Orbit, General Manager John Traub and Assistant General Manager Nick LoBue along with a balloon bouquet once the six millionth ticket was scanned at the first base gate. The Isotopes entered tonight only a mere 554 fans away from reaching the milestone.
Rodriguez also received a prize package that includes $600 worth of airline tickets anywhere she would like to fly, courtesy of Classic Travel, a personalized "6-Millionth Fan" Isotopes jersey and was honored on the field before the game.
In their 11th season, the Isotopes currently rank third among the 16-team Pacific Coast League in attendance with an average this season of nearly 7,100 fans per game thus far. The club has ranked in the top five for overall attendance and average attendance in the Pacific Coast League since they came into existence in 2003. The Isotopes have averaged 579,389 fans per season over their first 10 years.
"We are so humbled by the wonderful support that the fans have shown us," stated Isotopes General Manager John Traub. "We are very proud that the fans have made us part of the fiber of this community."
