SALT LAKE CITY - The Pacific Coast League announced today that Salt Lake Bees outfielder Kole Calhoun has been named PCL Hitter of the Week for the week of May 27 to June 2. This is the first Hitter of the Week award for the Bees in 2013 and the first of Calhoun's Triple-A career.

A Buckeye, Ariz. native, Calhoun was selected by the Angels in the eighth round of the 2010 Draft out of Arizona State University. He was named a MiLB.com Organization All-Star in 2011 and 2012, and started in right field for the PCL in the 2012 Triple-A All-Star Game. Calhoun made his major league debut on May 22 of last year and played in 21 games for the Angels over the course of the season. He was sidelined for six weeks after suffering a broken bone in his right hand during the first game of the 2013 season and is currently batting .387 with three home runs and 15 RBI in 15 games.
