Isotopes Take Series Lead with 8-5 Win

Oklahoma City, OK - Albuquerque plated two runs in four separate frames-including three RBI from Brendan Rodgers and solo homer by Trevor Boone- while Karl Kauffmann tossed 5.0 frames of two-run ball to propel the Isotopes to an 8-5 victory over Oklahoma City Thursday night at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark.

Topes Scope: -Rockies infielder Brendan Rodgers played in his first rehab game and went 1-for-4 with three RBI. He connected on a two-run double in the third inning (109.6 MPH).

The Isotopes hold a 2-1 series advantage for the third time this season (also: May 7-9 at El Paso and June 11-13 vs. EL Paso).

-Albuquerque has won four of its last five contests and six of eight.

-Albuquerque has belted a homer in eight-straight contests, tying the team-high set from May 7-15.

-The Isotopes have recorded double-digit hits in four of their last five games.

-All six of Albuquerque's wins over Oklahoma City have been decided by three runs or fewer.

-The Isotopes did not steal a base on the night, just the fifth time in 21 games against Oklahoma City the club hasn't recorded a swipe.

-On defense, Albuquerque allowed multiple stolen bases for the first time since May 29 vs. Oklahoma City.

-Kauffmann allowed just two runs on five hits and five walks with four punchouts. The five walks are tied for the second-most in a game by an Isotopes starter (high: six, twice).

-Hunter Stovall extended his hit streak to six games with his ninth multi-hit contest and third-straight. During stretch, he is 10-for-23 with four doubles, two homers and six RBI. It was his first two double game since Sept. 8, 2022, with Double-A Hartford.

-Drew Romo recorded a hit and two RBI, his first multi-RBI game since June 1 vs. Oklahoma City.

-Trevor Boone belted his second homer of the year (other: June 8 at Sacramento).

-Connor Kasier went 2-for-5 with an RBI. It's his fifth multi-hit game of the year and first since May 16 vs. Sugar Land.

-Julio Carreras swiped his 20th bag of the season, establishing a new career high.

On Deck: The Isotopes and Oklahoma City meet for game four tomorrow at 6:05 pm MT from Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark. Albuquerque is expected to send Peter Lambert to the hill while Oklahoma City is expected to start River Ryan.
