The Isotopes (18-18) won their third consecutive series after defeating the Reno Aces (14-22), 5-1, on Friday evening at Greater Nevada Field. Albuquerque took three of the four games in the series and have a .500 record for the first time since it was 6-6 on April 12.

Relievers Scott McGough, Keith Hessler and Scott Oberg played a huge in the Isotopes victory, shutting out the Aces for the final 5.0 innings of the contest. McGough earned his second win of the 2018 campaign, retiring nine of the 10 batters he faced while compiling four strikeouts in 3.0 innings. Oberg recorded the final four outs of the game to pick up his first save.

Starting pitcher Jeff Hoffman went 4.0 innings, allowing one run and six hits. The right-hander also struck out five batters during his 86-pitch outing.

Albuquerque took an early lead Friday night, scoring four runs in the opening frame. Tom Murphy drove in the first run with an RBI double before Jordan Patterson blasted a three-run homer to right. Patterson is now tied with Murphy for the team lead in home runs with eight on the year.

The Isotopes continue their swing through the Silver State as they head to Las Vegas on Saturday for a four-game set against the 51s. Albuquerque will turn to lefty Sam Howard (2-3, 5.79) in the series opener while P.J. Conlon (1-2, 6.75) will take the hill for Las Vegas. The game is scheduled to get underway from Cashman Field at 8:05 p.m.?
