Reno Aces News Release

Today's Game: The Aces will square off against the Chihuahuas of El Paso (19-17) to kick off the first game of a four-game set. Reno enters tonight's contest with a 3-5 record against the Padres top affiliate. Taylor Clarke will get the nod for Skipper Greg Gross, looking to build off his 7.0 inning two run performance against El Paso last time. Socrates Brito is coming off a 3-for-4 night and Michael Perez/Kevin Cron look to build off their multi-hit performances.

About Last Night: Reno dropped the fourth and final game of the series against the Albuquerque Isotopes last night by a score of 5-1. Reno scattered 10 hits, but only came up with one run. Aces starter Kris Medlen went 5.2 innings, allowed seven hits and one earned run. A Jack Reinheimer fielding error in the top of the first inning allowed four additional Isotopes runs to come across. Offensively, Socrates Brito raised his average to .341 with a 3-for-4 night. This was Brito's 13 multi-hit game of the year, most of any Aces player.

Star Wars Night @ GNF: Let the force be with you tonight during Star Wars Night! Mingle with the 501st Legion, watch fireworks and bid on Star Wars themed jerseys with proceeds benefiting the Northern Nevada Children's Cancer Foundation. Last season, Diamondbacks outfielder AJ Pollocked joined the Aces lineup for Star Wars Night. Pollock finished the day 1-for-2 with a double. Christian Walker went 3-for-5 with two runs scored and a triple against the Las Vegas 51's. Aaron Laffey took home the win and improved to 4-0 on the year.

Star Wars & Baseball: During the 2015 season, Major League Baseball teamed up with Lucasfilm Ltd. and the Stand Up To Cancer organization to sponsor several special "Use the Force for Good" dates. This included August 30 in Los Angeles (NL), September 8 in San Francisco, September 14 in Detroit, September 20 in Oakland, September 21 in Tampa Bay, and September 27 in Miami. Other franchises also held sponsored Star Wars themed games, many of which were sold out in advance. Fans found out there is no better way to celebrate popular American culture than Star Wars and a ballgame.

Decker Dingers: Cody Decker's home run total is up to 195 in his minor league career. With 195, Decker has the 3rd most Minor League homers of any active player. On April 9 against the Fresno Grizzlies, Decker went 4-for-4 with two home runs and three RBI.
