From the Notes
Close Encounters: The Sounds won another one-run game last night and are now 7-2 in games decided by one run this season. Their .778 winning percentage in one-run contests is the best in the Pacific Coast League.
Take a Seat: Josh Phegley gunned down two more would-be base-stealers last night to run the Sounds' total to 15 runners caught stealing this season. Only Fresno (16) and Salt Lake (16) have thrown out more. Dustin Garneau is tied for second in the PCL with nine runners thrown out behind only Oklahoma City's Rocky Gale who has 11. Phegley has thrown out five and Beau Taylor has thrown out one.
Neuse Making Noise: Third baseman Sheldon Neuse collected another hit last night to run his hit-streak to a season-high four games. During the modest four-game streak he is batting .400 (6-for-15) with 1 run, 2 doubles, and 2 RBI.
Unluckly #13: Sheldon Neuse struck out last night and has now been fanned at least once in each of the last 13 games he has played in. He has struck out in 40.7% of his at-bats this season.
Three's a Crowd: Nick Martini drove in a pair of runs last night and has now knocked in a run in each of the last three games. Martini joins Josh Phegley, Beau Taylor, and Anthony Garcia as the only Sounds to drive in a run in three consecutive ball games. No Sounds player has driven in a run in four straight games this season.
