Tacoma Takes Series Finale

El Paso Chihuahuas News Release


The Tacoma Rainiers defeated the El Paso Chihuahuas 8-3 Friday night and won three of the four games in the series. Rainiers infielder Taylor Motter went 2-for-4 with a home run, one of three homers he hit in the series. Tacoma starter Christian Bergman got the win and has held the Chihuahuas to one earned run in 25 career innings versus El Paso.

El Paso's three runs came on an RBI double by Javy Guerra and RBI groundouts by Guerra and Cory Spangenberg, who finished the four-game series with eight RBIs. Chihuahuas' pitching contained former MLB All-Star Jayson Werth in the series, holding the Rainiers outfielder 2-for-18 with two singles.

Relievers Jonathan Aro and Trey Wingenter both threw scoreless outings for El Paso. The Chihuahuas turned three double plays in the loss. El Paso outfielder Shane Peterson went 7-for-14 in the Tacoma series.
