Isotopes Season Opener Postponed

Albuquerque Isotopes News Release

Opening Day 2008 for the Albuquerque Isotopes will have to wait one more day, as the ‘Topes' game against the Omaha Royals was postponed due to rain, sleet, and cold today in Nebraska. The two teams will play their regularly scheduled game tomorrow at 6:05 Mountain Time before making up the postponed contest in a doubleheader on Saturday, April 5 at 5:05 PM MT.

Clouds that had been spitting freezing rain all day were threatening to dispense snow tonight, so the Royals elected to postpone today's game in the hopes for sunnier skies tomorrow.

Today's scheduled starter Bobby Keppel will get one extra day of rest before taking the hill against O-Royals right-handed prospect Luke Hochevar tomorrow in a 6:05 PM tilt Mountain Time.

After an eight-game tour of the Midwest, the Isotopes return home on April 11 to face the Oklahoma RedHawks, Triple-A affiliate of the Texas Rangers. In addition to the usual Opening Night pomp and circumstance, the ‘Topes will be giving away Isotopes Hats to the first 3,000 fans courtesy of Sandia Resort and Casino. Tickets can be purchased at Isotopes Park or any Ticketmaster outlet, www.ticketmaster.com, or Ticketmaster by phone 505-883-7800.
