New Orleans Baby Cakes News Release
The New Orleans Zephyrs defeated the Nashville Sounds at Zephyr Field on Thursday 5-2 in their season opener. Starting pitcher Adam Bostick (1-0) got the win after giving up only one run on six hits in five innings. He struck out seven batters.
Reliever Carlos Muniz got his first save of the season after recording the final out of the ballgame.
Offensively the Zephyrs were led by shortstop Anderson Hernandez, who went 2-5 and drove in two runs.
Second baseman Argenis Reyes picked up where he left off in Spring Training, going 3-4 in the game with an RBI.
Nashville starting pitcher Zach Jackson (0-1) recorded the loss. He gave up four runs on eight hits in six innings of play.
