Isotopes' 2008 Home Opener Has Sense Of Nostaligia

The Albuquerque Isotopes kick-off their sixth home opener this Friday with a series against the Oklahoma RedHawks, Triple-A affiliate of the Texas Rangers. The 'Topes' 2008 home opener is exactly five years to the day against the same opponent as the home opener in their inaugural 2003 season. The four-game stretch includes a slew of exciting giveaways and special events.

2008 Isotopes home season starts with a bang on Friday night when the 'Topes meet the Oklahoma RedHawks. The first 3,000 fans through the gates will receive a special 'Topes Hat, courtesy Sandia Resort and Casino. Fans will also be treated the usual pomp and circumstance of Opening Day, complete with player introductions and a special first-pitch ceremony.

MAGNET SCHEDULE GIVEAWAY COURTESY OF SUPERCUTS AND PUBLIC SAFETY DAY

Come early for the Isotopes' 1:35 PM game against Oklahoma on Sunday, for an Isotopes Magnet Schedule, given to the first 3,000 fans courtesy of Supercuts. In addition to the giveaway, the 'Topes will honor all local Public Service Agencies and their families as part of Public Safety Day at Isotopes Park Sunday afternoon. The concourse will be filled with several Public Service Agencies vehicles; including PHI Air Medical's Helicopter, Albuquerque Police Department's vehicles, and many more.

SCHOOL DAY MATINEE

Albuquerque's Opening Series finale will have a youthful spirit in the crowd, as area school kids will get to enjoy a break from their studies and enjoy a day at Isotopes Park. Included in their ticket price they will receive a sack lunch and watch Albuquerque Police and Fire Departments give various safety demonstrations.
