LAST NIGHT: Despite trailing 2-0 when they came to the plate for the first time, the RedHawks tallied six early runs to build a lead and momentum that lasted the entire game. Sounds starter Zach Jackson walked the first three batters he faced, and Oklahoma's Nate Gold cleared the bases with a triple, the first three runs of a five-run first. Nashville battled back over the game's remaining innings, but in the end it was not enough. Elizardo Ramirez picked up the win to even his record at one and one, while Frank Francisco earned the first RedHawk save of the season.

STREAKING: The RedHawks win was their second straight, the longest winning streak of the young season. Oklahoma won on Opening Day and proceeded to bounce back and forth from win to loss each game since.

EXTRA MEANS MORE: The RedHawks knocked eight hits in last night's win, five of which went for extra bases. Over this series first two games, Oklahoma has tagged seven Nashville pitchers for 17 hits, including seven doubles and three triples. Nearly half of the teams extra base hits have come in the last two games (ten of 23).

ROUGH STARTS... AND THEN SOME: The RedHawks have yet to retire the side in order in the first inning, and have allowed eight first inning runs. In fact, over 55 innings play this season, Oklahoma has set the side down 1-2-3 just 11 times. They have faced the minimum number of batters five times, and seen four batters in an inning 12 times.

NASHVILLE AT A GLANCE: Hernan Iribarren extended his on-base streak to six games and his hitting streak to five games with his leadoff single in the first. The outfielder is hitting .400 with an on base percentage of .458 through six games... In addition to Iribarren, Brad Nelson and Adam Heether have reached base in every game in which they have had an at-bat... Laynce Nix stroked his first home run of 2008 in this first inning yesterday. Nix hit 13 over portions of two seasons as a member of the RedHawks prior to the trade to Milwaukee... The Sounds 1-5 start is their worst since the 1998 season when they started 0-6 while still an affiliate of the Pittsburgh Pirates... Despite the down start, the Sounds have the fifth best batting average in the league at .273...

AROUND THE ORGANIZATION: Texas lost its home opener 8-1 to Baltimore... Frisco had its game with Arkansas postponed due to rain... Bakersfield beat Stockton 5-2... Clinton's game at Wisconsin was postponed due to snow...

DOT-DOT-DOT: Kevin Mench had his four-game hitting streak broken with an 0-4 performance. Mench's streak was the longest of the year by any RedHawk... Eric Hurley struck out four, taking his season tally to 11, fourth best in the league... Oklahoma's team ERA dropped from fifth to ninth in the PCL after allowing five earned runs last night... RedHawks skipper Bobby Jones is now four wins shy of 500 in his Oklahoma City managerial career. Jones spent two seasons at the helm of the 89ers in the mid-ninties, and is in his second stint as the manager of the RedHawks...

ON THE AIR: Every game this season can be heard on the RedHawks Radio Network, led by broadcaster Jim Byers for the ninth season, and joined by Adam Marco during each homestand. Fox Sports Radio AM 1340 in Oklahoma City will serve as the flagship station in 2008. The network affiliates this season are KSIW 1450 AM in Woodward, KXCA 1380 AM in Lawton, KPNS 1350 AM in Duncan, KTJS 1420 AM in Hobart, KGFF 1450 AM in Shawnee, and KWSH 1260 AM in Wewoka. Each game will also be broadcast on the internet through the audio link at www.oklahomaredhawks.com.
