Islanders Announce Transactions

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (March 29, 2012) - The New York Islanders have announced the following player transactions: Goaltender John Grahame has agreed to terms on an NHL contract through the remainder of the 2011-12 season, pending a physical examination. The Islanders also recalled goaltender Kevin Poulin on emergency basis from the Bridgeport Sound Tigers of the American Hockey League and returned forward David Ullstrom to the Sound Tigers.

Grahame, 36, has played in 224 career NHL games with the Boston Bruins, Tampa Bay Lightning and Carolina Hurricanes during his 13-year professional career. Last season, he played for the Lake Erie Monsters of the American Hockey League.

A native of Denver, CO, Grahame has 97 career NHL wins with a 2.79 goals against average and a .898 save percentage. He's appeared in six career NHL playoff games and was a member of the 2004 Stanley Cup Champion Tampa Bay Lightning.

Poulin, 21, has appeared in 41 games with the Sound Tigers this season, totaling a 19-17-4 record with a 2.93 GAA and a .905 save percentage. The second-year goaltender has appeared in six games this season with the Islanders, notching a 2-4-0 record with a 3.04 GAA and a .907 save percentage.

Ullstrom, 22, returns to the Sound Tigers after his second stint with the Islanders this season. The second-year forward has recorded eight points (four goals, four assists) in 29 games with the Islanders. Ullstrom heads to Bridgeport where he's amassed 23 points (19 goals, four assists) in 31 games this season.

The Sound Tigers continue their eight-game homestand with a three-game weekend starting tomorrow night against the Springfield Falcons at 7:00 p.m. The Sound Tigers play host to the Portland Pirates on Saturday at 7:00 p.m., then welcome the Manchester Monarchs to town on Sunday afternoon at 3:00 p.m. Sunday is Autism Awareness Day sponsored by C.E.S., where the Sound Tigers will wear commemorative warm-up jerseys that will be auctioned off, with all proceeds going to C.E.S.
