IronPigs Try to Take Series from Wings

The Lehigh Valley IronPigs will look to win the series against the Rochester Red Wings on Sunday afternoon. First pitch from Frontier Field is scheduled for 1:35 p.m.

RHP Severino Gonzalez (1-4, 4.38) gets the ball for the Pigs in the series finale. Gonzalez's last start for Lehigh Valley came back on July 3 when he got a no-decision against Rochester after giving up five runs on five hits to go along with a walk and three strikeouts over seven innings of work. The Santiago de Veragua, Panama native is 3-3 with a 7.92 ERA in 7 GS with the Phillies this season.

RHP Greg Peavey (0-4, 5.06) will be on the bump for the Red Wings on Sunday afternoon. Peavey was tagged with the loss on July 12 at Syracuse when he surrendered three runs on eight hits while walking one and fanning a pair in 6.0 IP. The Oregon State product will be making his second start of the year against the Pigs. On July 2 at Coca-Cola Park, Peavey took the loss against Lehigh Valley when he gave up two runs on five hits over five innings of work.

Since being recalled from Reading (AA) on June 16, Pigs LHP Adam Loewen is 0-1 with a 1.86 ERA and seven saves while fanning 32 batters over 19.1 IP in that span. As a whole this season, Loewen has struck out 45 batters in 36.2 IP.
