Lehigh Valley IronPigs News Release
The Pigs (21-25) play Game Two of a four-game series against the South Division leading Norfolk Tides (31-16) -- who boast the second-best record in the IL (Indianapolis is 33-15) and the tied for fourth-best record in all of Minor League Baseball... With a 4-3 win last night, the Pigs have now won three consecutive games and have improved to 4-1 on this eight-game homestand. In fact, the Pigs have taken five of their last six affairs after hitting their low water mark of 16-24 on May 16... The Tides -- Baltimore's top affiliate -- have dropped back-to-back games against the Pigs and have lost four of their last six affairs. Even so, the Tides are 20-7 in their last 27 contests since starting 11-9 on April 24. In fact, take out their season-series with Durham (0-2-3 in five series), the Tides are 8-0 in its other eight series.
LHP Raul Valdes (0-0, 0.00) will start for LHV against RHP Steve Johnson (1-2, 5.49).
Tonight's game features Friday Night Fireworks, presented by TD Bank... First-pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
