Iowa Stars Win Fifth Straight

DES MOINES, IA - The Iowa Stars sent their fans home with an early present, defeating the Milwaukee Admirals 6-3 Friday night at Wells Fargo Arena. The win was the Stars franchise-best fifth consecutive and their fourth straight win on home ice.

Jamie Johnson, Mathias Tjarnqvist and Junior Lessard registered one goal and one assist each and Mario Scalzo chipped in with two assists. In all, 13 Iowa Stars players notched at least one point Friday night.

Goaltender Dan Ellis made 34 saves for his fifth consecutive win and pushed his record for the month of December to 6-1. His December numbers show a 1.96 Goals Against Average and a .943 Save Percentage. Ellis also picked-up the second assist on Vojtech Polak's third period game-winner.

Iowa is now 10-0-1 when they lead after two periods. They are now 15-12-1-1 overall and just two points out of third place.

Attendance was 4,662.
