On Wednesday, Wade Dubielewicz stopped 26 shots in Bridgeport's 2-1 win over league-leading Wilkes-Barre/Scranton... Toronto beat Lowell, 5-2, behind two goals from John Pohl.

LOOKING AHEAD: Another battle for first in the Atlantic Division sends Manchester up to Portland to face the Pirates in a pre-Christmas showdown Friday (7:05 ET)... The Monarchs are two points back of Portland, which brings a four-game winning streak into the contest... Pirates Ryan Getzlaf and Corey Perry have taken the AHL by storm, with 48 points combined in 12 games since joining Portland on Nov. 22, and fellow rookie Ryan Shannon has seven points in six games since returning from injury... Connor James had a six-game scoring streak snapped in Manchester's 4-1 loss to Providence on Wednesday... The Monarchs' Brad Smyth leads all AHL forwards in plus/minus rating (+16).

Former teammates meet for the first time as coaches when Bruce Boudreau leads his Hershey Bears into Rosemont to face John Anderson's Chicago Wolves on Friday (7:30 CT)... The Toronto natives played together with the junior Marlies (1973-75) and the NHL's Maple Leafs (1977-83)... Boudreau's Bears are second in the East Division despite coming off back-to-back regualtion losses for the first time this season... Eric Fehr, who recently made his NHL debut with Washington, recorded three points in Thursday's loss to Grand Rapids... Anderson's Wolves have struggled to a 10-12-1-4 start, but have won three of their last four on home ice... Stephen Baby has 10 points on the year for Chicago, all coming in his last nine games.

Iowa takes a four-game winning streak into Friday's game against Milwaukee (7:05 CT)... The Stars are 8-1-1-1 in their last 11 games, but have been outscored 16-6 by the Admirals in the teams' last three meetings, all Milwaukee wins... Mathias Tjarnqvist has picked up seven points (6g, 1a) in seven games with the Stars this season... Dan Ellis has won his last four starts for Iowa, stopping 133 of 138 shots (.964)... Kris Beech, back in Milwaukee after an NHL stint in Nashville, has 10 points in his last seven AHL games... Brian Finley is 7-1-0 in the Admirals net this year...
