Iowa Stars Assigned Defenseman

DES MOINES, IA - Iowa Stars Director of Hockey Operations Scott White announced today that defenseman Patrick Traverse has been assigned to the American Hockey League club by the Dallas Stars.

Traverse, a 6-4, 207 pound defenseman appeared in 72 games last season with the Houston Aeros (AHL), registering six goals and nine assists: 72(6/9/15)58. In 2003-04, Traverse appeared in all 80 games with the Hamilton Bulldogs (AHL), recording 26 points, including five goals: 80(5/21/26). The Montreal, Quebec-born Traverse has skated in 278 career NHL games, posting 14 goals, 51 assists and 113 penalty minutes: 278(14/51/65)113. He was originally drafted by the Ottawa Senators in the third round, 50th pick overall, in the 1992 NHL Entry Draft.

OPENING WEEKEND: The Iowa Stars begin their inaugural season on October 6th and 8th at Wells Fargo Arena against the Peoria Rivermen and Omaha Knights, respectively. Both games will have a 7:05 PM start time. Tickets to all games can be obtained by calling 515-23-STARS.
