
Phantoms announce addition to staff

PHILADELPHIA - The Philadelphia Phantoms announced today that Shawn Waskiewicz has been named the team's Director of Sales. In his new position, Waskiewicz will be responsible for overseeing the team's sales efforts, selling group tickets and premium seating, and maintaining the team's ticket sales budget.
Waskiewicz, 29, is starting his ninth season in professional sports. He comes to the Phantoms from the Philadelphia Flyers, where he worked as an account executive for the past two months.
Prior to joining the Flyers, Waskiewicz spent five years with the Erie Otters of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL), where he most recently was the Director of Promotions and Special Events for the club. In that capacity, Waskiewicz was in charge of many different events and charitable efforts involving Otters players. Waskiewicz also worked in minor league baseball with the Erie SeaWolves of the Eastern League (EL), where he spent two seasons as the team's group sales manager and one as the Director of Ticket Sales.
Waskiewicz is a 1998 graduate of Edinboro University of Pennsylvania, where he earned a degree in business administration and a minor in economics.
The Phantoms begin defense of their Calder Cup Championship on Saturday, Oct. 8 at 7:05 p.m., when they take on the Binghamton Senators at the Wachovia Center. Individual tickets are on sale now at the Wachovia Center box office and all Ticketmaster locations throughout the Delaware Valley.
