Utah Flash News Release

SOUTH PADRE ISLAND, TEXAS, Jan. 10, 2011 - The Utah Flash battled all game long with the Iowa Energy, but a game that should have been decided in regulation, finished in overtime with a 95-93 Iowa victory.

In a game that changed leads 14 times and was tied eight times, both teams battled back from deficits, with Utah trailing by as many as 14 in the first quarter. Both teams went back and forth in the fourth quarter, with the final 30 seconds proving to be the most exciting.

Utah (9-8) appeared to have the game wrapped up in regulation on the strength of Orien Greene's brilliant steal and layup, which gave Utah a two-point lead with only 0.4 left on the clock. On the last possession of regulation, Iowa's Courtney Sims took an inbounds pass, turned and hit a jumper from the top of the key to send the game to overtime.

Sims, a former GATORADE Call-up with NBA experience, finished with 25 points and 12 rebounds. Jeffers, who appeared in 14 games with the Utah Jazz during the 2009-10 season, had a game-high 27 points to go with a game-high 17 rebounds for the Energy (16-6).

Greene, a 2005 second-round pick of the Boston Celtics with NBA experience, finished with 11 points, nine rebounds, nine assists and six steals for Utah, which also got 18 points from Ronald Dupree, who was recently waived by the Toronto Raptors.

Utah is in action again tomorrow against the Springfield Armor.
