
Iowa's Lofton, Rio Grande Valley's Adrien Named NBA Development League Co-Performers of the Week

NEW YORK, Jan. 10, 2011 - Chris Lofton of the Iowa Energy and Jeff Adrien of the Rio Grande Valley Vipers were today named NBA Development League Co-Performers of the Week for games played during the week of Jan. 3.
Lofton, a 6-2, 125-pound guard out of Tennessee who has played with the Denver Nuggets and Boston Celtics in the NBA Summer League, led the Energy to a 3-1 record on the week, averaging 26.8 points, 4.5 rebounds, 4.8 assists and 3.0 steals. Adrien, a 6-7, 245-pound forward out of Connecticut who played 15 games with the Golden State Warriors this season, led the Vipers to a 2-0 record on the week, averaging 22.5 points, 13.5 rebounds and 2.5 assists.
In Iowa's 116-108 win over Bakersfield on Saturday, Lofton scored 44 points, setting a new season high for points scored in a single game by any league player, and also added eight assists and four steals. In the Energy's 124-109 victory over Reno on Jan. 5, Lofton led the way with 30 points, seven rebounds, four assists and four steals. Adrien scored 14 points and grabbed 13 rebounds in Rio Grande Valley's 103-81 win over Austin on Friday, and had 31 points and 14 rebounds in the Vipers' 124-119 victory over the Toros on Saturday.
This week's honorable mention selections were Bakersfield's Devin Ebanks, who, on assignment from the Los Angeles Lakers, averaged 21.7 points and 8.0 rebounds in three games; Dakota's Renaldo Major, who averaged 17.8 points and 8.2 rebounds in four games; Erie's Ivan Johnson, who averaged 25.0 points and 7.5 rebounds in two games; Idaho's Carlos Wheeler, who averaged 21.0 points and 10.0 rebounds, and Antoine Walker, who averaged 18.0 points, 7.5 rebounds and 6.0 assists, in two games; Iowa's Othyus Jeffers, who averaged 22.0 points and 8.8 rebounds in four games; Maine's DeShawn Sims, who averaged 20.7 points and 7.3 rebounds in three games; New Mexico's Shane Edwards, who averaged 19.0 points and 8.8 rebounds in four games; Rio Grande Valley's Mustafa Shakur, who averaged 20.5 points and 6.5 assists in two games, Texas' Joe Alexander, who averaged 24.0 points, 10.0 rebounds and 5.0 assists in two games; Tulsa's Elijah Millsap, who averaged 20.7 points and 6.3 rebounds, and Jerome Dyson, who averaged 21.3 points, 3.3 rebounds and 3.0 assists, in three games; and Utah's Orien Greene, who averaged 18.6 points, 5.7 rebounds and 5.7 assists in three games.
