
Iowa Energy Win 106-102 over the BayHawks

Erie, PA - The Iowa Energy (20-23) won 106-102 over the Erie BayHawks (11-31) Wednesday night at the Erie Insurance Arena.
The Energy were led by James Ennis with 24 points and 10 rebounds. Ramon Harris added 19 points and nine rebounds. The BayHawks were led by Keith Appling with 24 points and eight assists.
It was a slow start to the game for the Energy as the BayHawks jumped out to an early lead. Myck Kabongo scored 11 points in the first to help Erie build an 11-point advantage. James Ennis led Iowa with 7 points as the Energy trailed 30-22 heading into the second quarter. Iowa kept the game close in the second, closing the gap to one point mid-way through the quarter. Ramon Harris would get hot, scoring 11 points in the quarter to end with 14 first half points as Erie held a 56-51 advantage at halftime.
Iowa started out the second half hot and quickly erased the halftime deficit. The Energy took the lead for the first time with 7:03 left in the third quarter. Iowa continued to take advantage of Erie's slow start to the second half and opened up a 12-point lead. The Energy outscored Erie 31-20 in the third to hold an 82-76 lead. The Energy controlled the game for most of the fourth quarter while re-building their lead to 10 points. Erie was able to slowly chip away at the Energy's lead and trailed by four points with 15.3 to play. Erie's late attempts to take the lead in the closing seconds were unsuccessful and the Energy would go on to win 106-102 and push Erie's losing streak to 14 games.
The Energy continue with the fourth and final game of a four game road trip in Maine on Friday at 6 p.m. Iowa is back home March 21 at 7 p.m.
