March 16, 2016 - NBA G League (G League)
Erie BayHawks News Release
Erie, Pennsylvania - The Erie BayHawks dropped a close contest to the Iowa Energy in a game that featured twins Aaron and Andrew Harrison.
The BayHawks had a strong offensive quarter in the first, tying their season-high for points in the quarter with 30. Myck Kabongo notched 11 points for the BayHawks while the team shot 50% from the floor to jump out to a 30-22 lead.
Iowa closed the gap to one in the second quarter before Erie went on an 8-0 run to go into halftime leading 51-42. Keith Appling recorded eight points in the quarter while Ramon Harris added 11 points for the Energy.
The Energy led by as many as 12 in the third and closed the quarter up 82-76 behind 60% shooting and three turnovers. Erie turned the ball over seven times for 11 Iowa points.
The BayHawks made a late run capped by an Appling steal but the offensive output came too little, too late after Aaron Harrison missed a long range three and sealed the game for the Energy.
James Ennis recorded 24 points and 10 rebounds in his double-double effort for the Energy. Ramon Harris added 19 points and nine rebounds. Andrew Harrison posted 15 points.
Aaron Harrison outscored his twin brother in his BayHawks debut, scoring 18 points for the BayHawks. Appling had a game-high 29 points and eight assists. Kabongo tied his season-high of 17 points. Erie was 23 of 26 from the free throw line.
The BayHawks return to Erie Insurance Arena Friday night at 7pm against the Westchester Knicks for Superheroes Night. The BayHawks will honor the servicemen and women of Erie. Tickets are available at www.eriebayhawks.com/superhero.
