
Brown Nearly Has Triple-Double as Grand Rapids Tops Westchester

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - Lorenzo Brown fell one assist short of his first triple-double as the Grand Rapids Drive snapped a five-game losing streak.
Brown had 18 points, 13 rebounds and nine assists as Grand Rapids beat the Westchester Knicks 123-105 on Wednesday night at the DeltaPlex Arena.
Grand Rapids, the affiliate of the Detroit Pistons, improves to 19-24. It was the Drive's first home game after a five-game road trip. Westchester, whose parent team is the New York Knicks, falls to 24-19.
Brown, 6-foot-5 guard out of North Carolina State, was 8-of-22 from the field and had his fifth double-double of the season.
Kelsey Barlow and Devin Ebanks scored 25 apiece to lead the Drive. Barlow, a 6-foot-5 shooting guard out of Illinois-Chicago, was 10-of-17 from the field. He had a career-high 32 points on March 13 at Maine.
Ismael Romero, a native of Cuba, had the best game of his professional career. The 6-foot-8 forward, who missed the first 16 games with an injury, had 14 points and eight rebounds. His previous high in points was 10 on Feb. 10 against Fort Wayne. Dahntay Jones had 18 points and Kam Holsey added 11 points.
Thanasis Antetokounmpo scored 22 points to lead the Knicks. Ra'shad James added 21 points and Jimmer Fredette had 20. Darion Atkins had nine points and 12 rebounds.
Barlow stole an inbounds pass with 2:30 to go in the third quarter and drained a 3-pointer to give the Drive a commanding 86-70 lead.
Fredette had a nice block on a dunk attempt by the Drive's Ralston Turner late in the second quarter. Fredette got the rebound and it led to a bucket by Darion Atkins. Kevin Capers stole an inbounds pass and scored at the buzzer to end the first half.
The Drive led 59-49 at halftime with Jones scoring 13 points. Antetokounmpo had 14 for the Knicks.
Grand Rapids went on a 14-4 run to end the first quarter and kept it going in the second quarter when they went on 12-3 run to start the frame.
The Knicks have struggled to score of late. They are 1-3 in their past four games and averaged 96 points in that span.
Westchester concludes its four-game road trip when it travels to Erie on Friday for a 7 p.m. EST contest. The Drive host the Delaware 87ers on Saturday at 7 p.m.
