Iowa Energy Fall to the Fort Wayne Mad Ants

Fort Wayne, Ind. - The Iowa Energy (17-20) fell 110-85 to the Fort Wayne Mad Ants (16-21) at the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum Sunday afternoon.

The Energy were led by Memphis Grizzlies assignee Jarell Martin with 19 points and five rebounds. Patrick Christopher and Ramon Harris added 13 points each. The Mad Ants were led by Terran Petteway with 20 points, 11 rebounds and 2 assists.

Ramon Harris got the Energy off to a quick start in the game, recording 13 points and six rebounds in the first quarter. Martin added seven points for the Energy. Iowa shot 47.6 percent from the field in the first. The Energy and Mad Ants exchanged the lead two times before Iowa opened up a 27-23 lead at the end of the quarter. The Mad Ants got things going in the second quarter, outscoring the Energy 31-12 to hold a 54-39 lead at halftime. Patrick Christopher scored eight of the Energy's 12 points in the second quarter.

The Mad Ants continued to shoot the ball well to open the second half. Fort Wayne shot 65.2 percent in the third and scored 32 points to briefly open the lead up to 29 points. Iowa trailed 86-60 heading into the fourth quarter. The Mad Ants continued to control the game in the fourth. Iowa was unable to mount a comeback and fell 110-85.

The Energy continue with game three of four on the road Thursday night in Maine at 6 p.m. Iowa returns home Sunday, March 6 for Faith and Family Night at 3 p.m.
