CEDAR PARK, Texas - Three Blue players scored over 20 points, but the Oklahoma City Blue fell to the Austin Spurs, 110-104, on Sunday at Cedar Park Center.
Marquis Teague tallied 28 points on 11-of-16 shooting while dishing out six assists to lead the Blue's offensive efforts. Dwight Buycks notched 21 second-half points to finish with 23 overall in his second game since joining on Saturday. Talib Zanna shot 10-for-12 from the floor to finish with 23 points and eight rebounds. Dakari Johnson added 10 points and eight boards.
The Spurs used an 11-3 run to end the opening quarter and take a 26-17 lead. Austin would build up its advantage throughout the game, leading by as many as 16 in the fourth quarter. The Blue chipped away at the Spurs' lead late in the contest and went on a 19-9 run to pull within five with 12.9 seconds to play. Oklahoma City's late rally - fueled by 11 fourth-quarter points each by Buycks and Teague - wasn't enough and Austin claimed the win at the foul line on the next possession.
Oklahoma City (13-24) surrendered a season-low seven turnovers.
Austin (22-14) was led by Cady Lalanne with 25 points, seven rebounds and six assists.
The Blue is back in action next weekend when it hosts the Santa Cruz Warriors on Friday and Saturday nights. Both games tip at 7 p.m. with tickets available at OklahomaCityBlue.com.
