
Austin Spurs Split Weekend Games with Oklahoma City Blue

CEDAR PARK, Texas - Cady Lalanne posted a team-high 25 points and Atlanta Hawks assignee Walter Tavares recorded a double-double with 17 points and 14 rebounds when the Austin Spurs (22-14) came out on top 110-104 at Cedar Park Center Sunday night in their second of back-to-back games against Oklahoma City (13-24).
Keifer Sykes contributed 18 points in Austin's win. Atlanta Hawks assignee Lamar Patterson and Deshaun Thomas each added 17.
Marquis Teague led Oklahoma City in scoring with 28 points, followed by Dwight Buycks and Talib Zanna who each posted 23.
The score stayed within three points for the first six minutes of the game. Austin pulled ahead as they went on a 6-1 run, ending the first quarter with a 26-17 lead. Patterson led Austin with six points, and Zanna paced Oklahoma City with six.
Austin continued to grow their lead in the second quarter, going on a 13-6 run at the nine-minute mark to gain their largest lead of the half, 44-28. Oklahoma City responded with a 12-4 run that narrowed Austin's lead to eight, 48-40, with three minutes remaining until halftime. Despite Teague's 13 points for Oklahoma City in the second, Austin led the entire quarter and was up 56-45 at the half.
Oklahoma City fought back in the third quarter, outscoring Austin 25-21. They came within three points with four minutes left in the third (67-64), but remained down at the end of the quarter, 77-70.
Austin controlled the fourth quarter, leading by as many as 16 and holding onto their lead for the remainder of the game, winning 110-104.
