Newark, DE January 14, 2014 - The Iowa Energy defeated the 87ers 123-114 in Delaware on Tuesday night.

The first quarter was back and forth as Delaware led 32-29 after the first. Iowa's Patrick Christopher had 11 of his game high 30 points in the quarter, converting on 3 of 4 shots from behind the arc.

The Sevens outscored the Energy 32-28 in the second quarter behind Philadelphia 76er assignee Lorenzo Brown and Delaware took a 64-57 lead into the half.

The Energy used a 19-0 run in the third quarter to gain the 85-76 midway through the quarter and led 90-86 heading into the final quarter.

The Energy never relinquished the lead despite Delaware's comeback effort and Iowa took home the 123-114 victory on the road to improve to 14-6 on the season. Delaware falls to 3-17.

The Sevens had seven players score in double figures and were led by Brown's 22 points, 8 assists, and 7 rebounds. Tiny Gallon had 18 points and Thanasis Antetokounmpo added 17.

The Energy were led by Christopher's 30 points and 6 rebounds. Othyus Jeffers had a near triple-double with 24 points, 12 rebounds, and 7 steals. Kalin Lucas and Moses Ehambe each added 18 for the Energy.

The Energy will play the Fort Wayne Mad Ants on Saturday, January 18th at 7 PM at Wells Fargo Arena. The first 1,000 fans will receive an Iowa Energy t-shirt. The game also features $2 beer and the Alexandria Aces will perform at halftime. The game is Goodwill night as part of the Wells Fargo Big Assist program. The Energy will wear special Goodwill branded jerseys for the game.
