SANTA CRUZ, Calif. - The Philadelphia 76ers have signed center Dewayne Dedmon from the Santa Cruz Warriors, the Sixers announced today.

Dedmon, 24, appeared in 15 games with the Santa Cruz Warriors, averaging 15.2 points and leading the NBA D-League in rebounds per game (13.5). He ranked seventh in the league in blocked shots per game (2.3) and his 21 rebounds against the Los Angeles D-Fenders on Dec. 17 remains an NBA D-League season high. He grabbed a Santa Cruz record eight offensive boards on Dec. 29 at Bakersfield.

Dedmon earned a GATORADE Call-Up on Nov. 18 to the Golden State Warriors, where he appeared in four games. He was acquired by the Santa Cruz Warriors on Nov. 1 via the affiliate rule after spending time with the Golden State Warriors in the preseason. He played his last two collegiate seasons at the University of Southern California, averaging 7.1 points, 6.7 rebounds and 1.67 blocks in 51 games. The 7'0", 255-pound center finished the 2012-13 season ranked third in the Pac-12 in blocked shots (2.13).

Dedmon's call-up marks the seventh in Santa Cruz Warriors history and the fourth of the 2013-14 season, surpassing last season's total of three (Chris Johnson - Minnesota Timberwolves, Travis Leslie - Utah Jazz, Scott Machado - Golden State Warriors).
