Kannapolis Cannon Ballers News Release

Kannapolis, NC - Kannapolis smacked 12 hits for the second straight night and Ray Liotta took a perfect game into the fifth helping the I's to a 6-1 win in front of 2,552 people at Fieldcrest Cannon Stadium. The victory pushes K-town's win streak to seven straight games. The I's widen their lead in the Southern Division of the South Atlantic League to two games over Greenville and one and a half games over Charleston.

A four run fourth was the difference as the I's swatted four hits and got some help with three Bomber errors. Kannapolis took a lead with a Boomber Berry RBI single in the second. The I's added insurance when Jose De Los Santos grounded in Donny Lucy. The I's catcher finished 3-4 with two doubles and a pair of runs scored. Chris Getz went hitless for the first time as a professional going 0-5.

Liotta took the win (7-3) with six innings of three hit, one run ball. Gary Galvez was the loser (6-2). Michael Moat earned his first save of the year with three innings of scoreless relief. The I's and Bombers will play again Sunday afternoon at 5:05. Sunday's are Kids Eat Free Days at the Stadium sponsored by Cabarrus Creamery.
