Kannapolis Cannon Ballers News Release
Kannapolis, NC; Kannapolis (8-16) lost to Savannah (12-13), by a final score of 9-3, Monday night at Fieldcrest Cannon Stadium. The Intimidators scored 6 runs on 7 hits in the first inning of Savannah starter David Trahan. Trahan was buried by the big inning, and took the loss, working just 3 innings. The loss for Trahan (1-12) marked a South Atlantic League record for consecutive losses (12). The Intimidators scattered 3 runs over the next 2 frames, and that was more than enough support for starter Derek Rodriguez. Rodriguez worked 7 strong, allowing 2 ER, while picking up the win (4-9).
Offensively, the Intimidators were led by Brandon Allen who picked up 2 RBI by nailing a double and triple. Francisco Hernandez also smashed an RBI triple to right.
Kannapolis wraps up its 4-game series with Savannah on Tuesday at Fieldcrest Cannon Stadium. Intimidators RHP Ricky Brooks opposes Savannah's RHP Carlos Martinez. The first pitch is scheduled for 11:05am. Tuesday is the annual Camp Day at the Cannon.
