
Catfish overwhelmed by GreenJackets, 14-2

Columbus Catfish News Release
Columbus, GA - The Columbus Catfish (13-12) were knocked around for 18 hits in a 14-2 loss to the Augusta GreenJackets (19-6) Monday at Golden Park. Augusta scored in each of the first five innings and took a 12-0 lead, never giving Columbus a chance.
The Augusta scoring barrage included six runs in the fourth inning and each GreenJackets starter collected at least one hit in the rout. 3B David Maroul, SS Anthony Contreras and 1B Pablo Sandoval each had three hits.
The Catfish did not score until the sixth inning when 3B Shane Justis singled to left field, scoring SS Ivan DeJesus. They scored one final run in the bottom of the ninth inning. With the bases loaded 1B David Sutherland walked, allowing DH Jason Mooneyham to score.
RHP Cory Wade (6-5) allowed nine runs, eight earned, on nine hits in 3 1/3 innings and suffered the loss. RHP Joe Martinez (9-5) gave up just one run in eight innings to earn the win.
Mooneyham walked in the ninth inning to save a streak of 36 straight games having reached base. He has been on in each of 29 home games played with the Catfish.
